Summary: "Penthouse F takes the form of
an inquiry into the suicide, which may or may not be a murder, of a
young boy and girl that took up residence in the Author/Protagonist's --
same name: Richard Kalich -- own penthouse in Manhattan. Using the
interrogations of various figures in the fictional Kalich's own life, as
well as the protagonist's own philosophical musings, personal
documents, and notes on a novel in progress, the story of the pair's end
unfolds, becoming both more real and more suspect. At the center of
this interrogation looms the question -- is Kalich responsible? ...
Kalich is able to undertake a pointed critical examination of an
increasing voyeuristic generation while cautioning against the delusion
that the instantaneity of electronic media can replace the
substantiality of authentic human relationship"--Book jacket. Subjects:
Suicide -- Murder -- Voyeurism -- Fiction.
